  • Who is therapy for? Does going to therapy say that I’m weak?
    Short answer, Everyone! If you're feeling like life is getting in the way of your happiness, then therapy is for you. If you're feeling like you're not living up to your full potential, therapy is for you. If you feel like your world is out of balance and you need a little help getting it back into alignment, then therapy is for you. Therapy is for everyone who wants to be their best self and DOES NOT mean you are weak. In fact, it says the opposite: it says you are strong enough to identify and see that you need help. Therapists are trained to help you get to the root of your issues and make real change, so you can feel better about yourself and your life.
  • How does therapy work?
    It's a collaborative process between you and your therapist. In therapy you will begin to identify the thoughts, feelings, and triggering beliefs that are causing you discomfort. Therapy works best when you come ready to dig deep and change. Therapy is a place where you can be your rare and real self, so that you can challenge those parts of you that cause inner turmoil and pain. Therapy is a process that is worthwhile if you want to be the best version of you.
  • What is expected of me during therapy? What do I have to do in sessions?
    You can expect to get what you give. If you want effective and true change, you must dig deep and be willing to challenge the initial responses. If you want the maximum benefits, You are expected to be committed, honest, accountable, and willing and ready to change. Therapy is NOT always fun, but as your therapist, we at Y&A are committed to do as hard for you as you are going for yourself. It's important to know that you are not required to do anything you don't want to do during your time with us. However, this will not produce the best results. If you want to get the most out of your time with us, you must show up, be accountable, and be your true self. If you show up ready with these traits, Y&A is ready to rock and roll with you on this marvelous journey.
  • What you can expect from me as your therapist...
    As a therapist, I promise to always be honest and straightforward with you. You'll never have to wonder if I'm on your side or not, because I am always on your side and rooting for you to thrive. You can expect me to help you work through the issues that are holding you back from living the life you want. I will challenge the faulty thinking and offer alternative and more productive ways of thinking. You can expect a cheerleader, coach, confidant, and teacher all in one. As your therapist I will buckle in to be the person you need for your journey.
